Sigma Phi Zeta was established on May 22nd, 2003 as an organization dedicated to uniting gentlemen under the principles of brotherhood, academic excellence, community service and cultural diversity. The founding members set out to break down barriers posed to minorities seeking a higher education and defy negative stereotypes associated with fraternities.

In our short history, we have established ourselves on the UC Santa Cruz campus and developed a philanthropic influence both locally and across the bay area. Our rapid growth as an organization has no sign of slowing down; and as we gain more members we will continue to exert a positive influence on the community.
